Stephen McCaskill is an American author whose path to writing has been anything but traditional. He began his career in accounting, took an early detour into procurement, and later made a significant shift into law enforcement. Eventually returning to the world of finance, he built a career defined by adaptability, analytical thinking, and a willingness to follow unexpected opportunities.
What most people don’t know is that Stephen has been writing creatively since grade school. He wrote short stories as early as the fourth grade, but kept nearly all of them to himself. In 2024, after carrying a particular story with him for more than two decades, he finally decided to turn it into a novel.
The process unlocked something he didn’t expect, an enduring love for the craft of storytelling. Writing became a blend of discipline, curiosity, and patience, echoing the resilience he developed throughout his professional journey.
His debut novel, And Still We Stood, brings together the themes he’s drawn to most: perseverance, humanity under pressure, and the fragile lines between order and collapse. It blends the intensity of a thriller with the emotional depth of a character-driven drama.
Stephen lives with his family and continues to write, exploring stories that challenge, inspire, and stay with readers long after the final page.
